Product Description

Organ and trumpet combination in Royal Court Baroque period music. Early trumpet masterpieces from Purcell, Clarke and other royal composers.  Regal Fanfares is a programme of some of the most exciting and dramatic music from the Baroque period.  Often flamboyant, sometimes ornate, this music has a grandeur and stateliness that is guaranteed to stir the emotions.  Both the trumpet and organ have been associated with Royal occasions over the centuries and the combination of the two makes one of the most thrilling sounds to be heard in music.  The baroque trumpet had no valves and so the notes in the lower register are spaced out, but in the higher register they are close together making it possible to write the melodies and the glittering runs of notes so characteristic of this music.Total time: 59:37
